Guestbook

  1. candleMay you rest in peace Mr. Colby. You will be missed. My condolences to you all, praying for you all during this difficult time.
    Pamela (Ronnie & Kathy’s daughter)

  2. candleGeorge, you were a special man always full of adventures to tell us about. You will be missed ♡

  3. Mr. Colby’s brilliance as a teacher was only superseded by his kindness and wit. He was an integral part of the Forest Hills High School Science Department for many years. During my years as a student, his smile and encouragement extended to everyone even if we were not in one of his classes. His words of appreciation and smile after a concert to those of us in the chorus were so nice of him. I am sorry to know that he is no longer here and grateful to have made his acquaintance. May he rest in peace.

  4. Mr Colby was one of my all time favorite teachers. Though many many years have passed, when someone would ask of a favorite teacher, i always talk about my earth science teacher. RIP Mr Colby and thank you.

  5. Mr. Colby’s warm smile and kindness will always be remembered. As my section teacher in 1985, he was truly one of the good ones and made a lasting impact. May he rest in peace.

  6. As a sophomore new to Forest Hills High School day one hour one was very intimidating. Having Mr. Colby as my section teacher was soothing to me. He was warm and friendly and knowledgeable about the chaos that was FHHS. I owe my acclimation to high school to his calming presence. Thank you for your impact on hundreds of students over the years as a classroom teacher for certain and to some of us as a guide to the complexities of high school. RIP sweet soul.

  7. My sincerest sympathies to the Colby and Scott family. I have known Catherine, Spencer, and Colby for years and they are all like second family to me. God bless.
    Peace and love,
    Ricky

  8. candleTo the Entire Colby family ,
The Mantells are sad to hear the news and send our deepest condolences. George was one of a kind , my Mother Evelyn’s wonderful friend ,always so warm and generous with his time , planing and carrying out all the Forest Hills High School Retirees Luncheon that everyone absolutely loved attending . It was way for all the Retirees to spend Quality time together and made people like my Mom Evelyn simply thrilled to be a part of . Mom always talked about how kind George was , in order to enrich someone’s life so that they could continually come to the Luncheons, he would come from Long Island , pick up the person , Drive Back to Long Island to the Luncheon, then drive this person home and then go back home to Long Island. Now tell me , WHO DOES SOMETHING LIKE THAT??? George Colby ……The world will miss someone like you George, Now you are in Heaven with God, where you will rest in Eternal love and peace.
    .
