Grace was born and raised in Jersey City along with her brothers and sisters. She loved to tell stories of her secretarial career that began working for TWA Airlines before becoming a mother. After marrying, Grace became a mother of four and raised her children in Levittown and Smithtown before moving to Setauket.
While in Smithtown, Grace was a member of St. Patricks Church and very active in parish activities. She sang in the choir, and she organized and lead a support group and was very humble in regards to the tremendous help it provided many people in the community.
Grace was a passionate embroiderer and shared her remarkable talent with amazing linen gifts to family and friends which will be forever cherished. Grace enjoyed both word search and Suduko puzzles as well as jigsaw puzzles. She would jokingly tap your hand away if you tried to overtake her pieces on one of her jigsaw puzzles. She also spent a great deal of time in her magnificent gardens that were designed and tended with expert care by her husband Will. She loved to reminisce about dancing the Alley Cat with her sisters and her father Charles waiting until the last minute on Christmas Eve to buy the family Christmas tree.
It didn’t take long after meeting Grace, that most would refer to her as “Gracie” after experiencing her sweet and gentle spirit, it was easy to instantly love her!
Grace’s life was a blessing to her family and friends and memories of Grace will be a treasure. Her goodness, caring and wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us.
