My heart in truly sadden at the news of the passing of Ian Clarkson… My Condolences to his Family and loved ones…Ian had profound effect on my life, especially here in NC.I first briefly met Ian in Oct 2007, and was blessed to start taking Bagpipe lessons from him in Jan 2008… either at his home or at the Firehouse his patience with my shortfalls, his commitment to make me a better bagpiper, was always amazing … Ian was a gift , answer to my prayers of renewing my passion to play Bagpipes…It was an blessing to learn from him and share in his knowledge … over the years I had many times , Previleged to play along side him … each time , again he made me better with Tips and things to remember ….I experienced an opportunity to share in a Robert Burns Dinner Piping in The Haggis together with Ian …A very Proud Scotsman….Ian was a True Gentleman in all situations..I am a Piper today , because of Ian Clarkson….For that I will be forever grateful ….Ian made a Difference and will Never be forgotten….Rest In Peace Sir…PIPE ON , PIPE ON !Philly B
