When I had my first dance lesson with Ilona this May, I sensed her brilliance as a dance teacher, individual, and beyond. From her radiant smile that lit up the room, to her infectious energy was profoundly felt, it was an honor to be in the presence of this amazing young lady. Having known Ilona for such a short period of time, it was an honor to have met her and to be blessed to have her as my dance teacher. I met Ilona at the dance studio, she was dancing with Dennis and they lit up the room. Her smile drew you in. Ilona was taken suddenly from us but she will live on forever in our hearts. Her kindness, talent, and genuine caring will be remembered by all she touched in her life. She’s an Angel.
I met Ilona through school and we lived in the same neighborhood growing up. Ilona was such a sweet and amazing girl. I would see her running through the neighborhood all of the time! We became great friends in 5th grade and she was the reason I looked forward to going to school that year. She will be missed so so much.❤️❤️

I first met Ilona as colleagues lifeguarding. She was the fist one to introduce herself when I started and was always such a kind/compassionate person. Her personality and the way she carried herself never failed to light up the room and bring people together. Ilona, you will be dearly missed and always loved. Thank you for being an incredible friend and colleague.

Everyone that was honored to have Ilona in their lives, know’s what was taken from us.A young lady with endless hopes and dreams. A young soul bursting with life and energy. A smile that was electrifying. A gentle person loved by everyone. Ilona was intelligent in so many ways and made it her business to step up and help anyone in time of need without hesitation. She was a true and honest person. Ilona always spoke from the heart. She loved her family and friends. She was someone who would be there for you. I had the privilege of knowing Ilona from “Dance with Us” Dance Studio and witnessed all of these wonderful qualities that made her the person she was.

Ilona you was a wonderful person, I met you couple of times when you was a little girl and 4 years ago at Rachel’s bat Mitzva but I always heard a lot about from your aunt .

I can still hear Ilona’s voice suggesting we share a lane for swim lessons, with that bright smile that lit up a whole room. She will be missed with a heavy heart but we will never forget the beautiful mark she left on the world, my prayers and love go out to the Kaydanov family.

Ilona, Your kind happiness always filled our Pines Art Room, and I was so Proud to say this is a shining Hauppauge student ready for the future. Thank you for teaching me the beginning joys of being your Art Teacher… you taught me so much. And then. Dennis came into my Art Room., and filled my heart with stories about you at MS., and I could see the Pride he felt in being your brother. Dennis shined in his eyes with love of his family., and he would tell me, wait Ms. A., Joseph is coming next. Awwww, Joseph, in the Art class brought the brightest love of his big Sister and big Brother, beaming with Pride and stories of Ilona and Dennis. These are the loving moments an Art Teacher gets in their Teaching tenure of teaching a family. What a beautiful family you All are…I love you All so very much. GOD BLESS you ALL. Ilona taught both my daughter and son how to swim. She was the most patient person with my son and getting him to like the pool. My daughter is a fish because of her.
She was an amazing woman with a bright future ahead of her.

You would so often tell me about your plans, as you seemed to so quickly go from a girl to a young woman. You are going to be so missed by so many who’s lives you truly touched. Ilona was always such a kind and passionate person who brought light with her wherever she went. I knew her through school and she was one of the first friends I made when moving to Hauppauge. During senior year I was lucky enough to join the newspaper to work with Ilona once again and see her passion in action. She was the Soaring Eagle’s fearless leader who was on top of making every paper better than the last. She was so excited for the future and was driven to make a difference in this world. So sorry for the loss and she will be greatly missed ❤️

We are still in shock and complete disbelief that Ilona is gone. Ilona taught dance to our daughter Victoria for 2 years and will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to the Kaydanov Family. May you find strength during this difficult time.
I was extremely fortunate to have crossed paths with Ilona while attending Hauppauge Middle & High School. She was kind, passionate, and above all else, an immensely intelligent and selfless person. Her drive pushed everyone around her to exceed and I truly cannot believe she is gone. My prayers go out to all of her loved ones she will truly be missed.

What can I say about Ilona that everyone hasn’t already said?! She was such a beautiful, kind sweet, compassionate bright light at the Y. She was one of my youngest daughter’s swim instructors and she was so patient, attentive and loving to her. She eldest daughter also had the privilege of swimming with her. As a colleague of hers at the Y, she was the same with everyone she encountered and so was her brother Dennis. I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting Joseph.

My friend Ilona was a shining example on how to live your life. From her prowess in her fitness routine, her excellence at Stony Brook University and the joy from her dancing; everything she did was a showing of how amazing Ilona really was. From the moment I met her and at every single time I saw her, she lit up the room. Her presence was an invitation to smile, and an indication that it would be a great day. The six years I known her were a true pleasure, and the moments I spend with her during summer lifeguarding at SYJCC and lunches at college were top highlights. Ilona will always be my friend and will always be missed, but her impact on me shall never be forgotten.
