My dear Mother,
It has been 5 days since you left us and I have never felt such a combination of heartfelt sadness and pure emptiness and at the same time feeling happiness and pride that together , through this year long journey we did this TOGETHER, without hospitals, technology and excessive medication. You left us in peace, pain free in your own bed, at home, just as you had wished for. You became my best friend and partner throughout the years and I truly am lost without you, but I promise I will do the best I can to carry on in life just as you had hoped. My children have been my rock throughout your illness and words can’t describe how much they love and adore you as their hands on, always there, Grandmother. You were and still are a huge part of their lives and we have more wonderful memories than most. And for that, we are truly fortunate.
