Irene C. Riordan, age 55, of Rocky Point, NY died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Born June 27, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John A. and the late Marion (Hansen) Byrnes. She was employed by the Town House Diner, Rocky Point, NY as a Waitress. She is survived by her beloved husband: James P.Riordan , loving daughter: Kathleen Riordan of Rocky Point, NY, sons: James P. Riordan, Jr. of Rocky Point, NY, Sean Riordan of Rocky Point, NY; and sisters: Marion Cooney of Miller Place, NY, Linda Shapiro of NJ, Karen Byrnes of Shirley, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30am on Friday, May 30 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY with Rev. Richard P. Hoerning officiating. Burial will follow in Seaview Cemetery, Mount Sinai on Friday, May 30 at 10:45am. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 29 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. To the family of Irene..So sorry to hear of her passing. We did not know her personally, but through her at the Diner. She was one of the best and most efficient waitress we knew. Dear Jim And Family, Your lost really touched me, I am feeling for you, may she rest in piece.
I am so very sorry to hear this news. Ward Melville is having their 40th high school reunion this year and I was looking on the internet to find Irene to see if she wanted to go and I just found out the sad news. I am very sorry I didn’t connect with her sooner after I moved back to New York in 2010. Although I am 2 years late, my condolences to her family.
