I am so sorry and sad to hear of Jim’s passing. My Condolences to all. Jim, your smile, kindness and cheerfulness will be missed terribly at Coldwell Banker! RIP my Friend, I’ll miss you.

Jimmy was an incredibly unique and wonderful friend; very likeable, interesting, warm, kind, caring, smart as a whip, and as honest as they come. I don’t think I know anyone who had as many friends as he did, as well as his innate ability to easily make new ones. I always enjoyed my conversations with him, of events long ago, and those of a contemporary nature.

I had the good fortune to have known Jim for over 55 years, since 8th grade at East Northport JHS. I was looking forward to getting together for our lunch dates again, which were pretty much cancelled since the onset of Covid in March of 2020. The last time I saw Jim was for lunch at Crab Meadow Beach, in late September of last year.

As I seem to be saying with increasing frequency lately, having lost two close friends within the course of less than 3 weeks; Sic transit gloria mundi….so passes the glory of the world. Jim, rest in peace my good friend. I will always have very fond memories of you, and I will very much miss you.

Hey Jimmy, I’m sure you’re smiling down on all of us who loved you. Your lovely family and all your many freinds are missing your humor and warmth but rest assured my good friend you always be with us in our hearts and fond memories of you.

RIP Jim. You were always a kind caring person. The USPS was brighter because of you.

Jim Welsh was the best Postmaster the Smithtown PO ever had. He was kind and fair and I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with him. He made my retirement send off the best by taking the time to attend and saying such kind words. He will always be remembered and missed.

This is so hard to hear. Jimmy was a Special person to a lot of us. I will Miss him dearly.My heart is hurting.

I am so saddened to hear this information. Jimmy was a genuine soul. I will always remember him playing “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and making every moment last. The world lost a special guy. Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences and prayers to his family.

I will always remember Jimmy for his kind nature, easy laughter, concern for social responsibility and deep love of his family and friends. He was a true gentleman, and could hold a conversation with insight and conviction. We were childhood friends. In recent years we were lunch buddies along with other friends who shared a bond of friendship and camaraderie when we got together. Extending deepest condolences to Maria, and his beautiful family. The pictures he would post of his grandchildren were always so adorable . His heart was full of love for his family, and his extensive circle of friends. May he Rest In Peace, and live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
