James P. Conrad
January 12, 1946 ~ May 23, 2023
James Peter Conrad was born in The Bronx, NY on January 12, 1946, to Thomas and Mary Conrad. Older brothers Thomas and Jack helped welcome James to the world along with his fellow triplets, Ann and Frank.
James married the love of his life, Eileen, on November 17, 1973. They were inseparable for the next 49 years while building their happy family and life in Brooklyn. He was the devoted father of John, Eileen Alana, and James; father-in-law to Trish, John, and Marisa; and grandfather of Alyssa, James, Erin, Kayleigh, Johnny, and Ryan.
A proud United States Marine, James joined the New York City Police Department in 1967. He served the city with distinction for 34 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant during a distinguished career that included earning a Combat Cross for valor in 1974.
He loved rooting for the New York Mets, sticking by them through the highs and the lows (mostly lows), as well as taking a few swings at the local Pitch and Putt in Riis Park. Always quick with a joke, James’s sense of humor and ability to make others laugh were known by all. Nothing would make him happier than for those reading this to tell a corny joke to their friends and loved ones in his memory.
We love you, Pop, and we miss you already. Say hello to Mom for everyone.
