John Michael O'Hara

John Michael O'Hara, age 91, of Ridge died Saturday, November 25, 2017. John was born February 18, 1926 in Manhattan, NY. He is the son of the late John and Genevieve (Monahan) O'Hara. He was employed by Retail Stores in New York as a decorator. John had been 46 year resident of Bethpage, New York in addition to current 18 year residence in Ridge. John was an active participant in charitable causes in the communities he lived including St. Martin of Tours Church in Bethpage, Friends of the library in Shoreham and Leisure Glen retirement community where he lived until his passing. Honored as Grand Marshall of Bethpage St. Patrick's Day Parade for his community and church volunteering and service . He is survived by his wife of 70 years Margaret M. (Ussia) O'Hara , two daughters: Nancy Hope (Gordon) of Miller Place, NY and Janet Oliveri (Michael) of Levittown, NY and his son: John O'Hara, Jr (Melissa) of Mississippi. He also is survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. John was predeceased by his daughter Kristine Yosco (Michael survives). A private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:00 am on Thursday, November 30 at St. Anthony Of Padua R.C. Church, 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY.
