John T. Shevlin, age 89, of Rocky Point died Monday, October 9, 2017 at his home in Rocky Point. John was born December 1, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and Florence (Nicholas) Shevlin. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II from 1945 to 1946. He was employed in Manhattan, NY as a Jeweler. He is survived by his wife: Marion (Shelton) Shevlin, four daughters: Carol Baio of Valley Stream, NY, Linda Randolph of California, Mary Ellen Bittrolff of Broad Channel, NY and Denise Shevlin of Rocky Point, NY, and two sons: Thomas Shevlin of Miller Place, NY and John Shevlin of Broad Channel, NY. He also has Ten Grand Children and Five Great Grand Children. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Shevlin. The religious services will be held 8 pm on Wednesday, October 11 at the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram on Thursday, October 12 the family invites everyone to meet at the Rocky Point Funeral Home at 10am for a closing prayer. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, October 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY.
