John was a sweet young man and a friend to my sons. My prayers are with your family. May he rest in peace.
Bill,
I am sorry I cannot be there with you to mourn Jon’s loss. I am away on a business trip in the United Kingdom this week with Jim White and Don Leatherman. I have tried to reach out to you a few times in the last three days and have not been able to make contact, which is totally understandable given with what you are dealing with.
The news about Jon has been very hard for me to deal with, but my sadness is only a small fraction of what you must be going through. Initially when I heard this news, I refused to believe it. I assumed there must be some mistake and I would not even try and process this mentally and emotionally without a positive verification. Once it was confirmed to me, I thought of you and how hard it is going to be. I know you love all your children. You wear that on your sleeve. It is an awesome trait and it has makes a big difference for Jon, Kristen, Ryan and Matt. They know you are always behind them, always pulling for them and always care. Your involvement with them has been constant, relentless and impressive. I know this is an incredible blow and may cause you to lose faith. You must be strong for all of your children, little Derek and the new addition on the way. They need your strength and support more than ever.
We will all miss Jon. He was a bright light at Target Rock both as a super impactful employee and friend to all. It is unbelievable to me that this bright, energetic, capable and easygoing friend was taken from us. Nearly every time I talked about Jon, I thought of cool it was that he found a career at Target Rock, became very good at his craft, got promoted and had potential to grow even more. Jon was well liked by all of his fellow employees and our customers. We all counted on him and genuinely liked working with him. Jon and I got to know each other even better over the past year playing on the Target Rock Deck Hockey team. He was good to the core. I never saw anything but a ‘can do’ attitude and friendly disposition from Jon. As you know, Target Rock can pressure packed and a little unfriendly at times. Jon’s competence and effectiveness always helped to dial down the pressure and his personality brightened everywhere he went.
Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. Let us know if there is anything you need. I know Greg has been in contact with you. I will try and reach out again, but I wanted you to know that we really feel this one. The Brunet family and Target Rock have a close ties and we are very sad for your family.
With my deepest sympathies,
Mike Cinque
