Joseph Paul Lazzara

Joseph Paul Lazzara, age 87, of Ridge died Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Joseph was born April 1, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Edward and the late Frances (Augello) Lazzara. He was also predeceased by his brother, Nat Lazzara. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean war from 1951 to 1953. Joseph was an avid guitar player, often entertaining his family including his grandchildren by playing many songs. When he was younger he was part of a trio and traveled playing here in the US and in Canada. He was employed by Emigrant Bank, New York as a Vice President. He is survived by his wife: Patricia A. (Elberth) Lazzara, three sons: Joseph Lazzara of Levittown, NY, Robert Lazzara of New Hyde Park, NY and Richard Lazzara of Shoreham, NY, his brother: Edward Lazzara of Florida. He also has nine Grand Children and one Great Grandchild. Prayers will be offerd 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 14 at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. Family and friends will gather Friday, June 15 at 10AM at the Funeral Home for a closing prayer. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton. Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY.
