I have very fond memories from 1956 and 1957 of going to Birchwood School and having Mr. Bono for a teacher in 3rd grade when he taught our class for the second half of the school year, and then again in 4th grade. I have thought of him often over the years and had been wondering lately how everything had turned out for him. I went online and was so saddened to see that he had passed away just two weeks earlier. I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a good teacher and such a nice man and was so well liked by all of us. We felt very lucky to be in his class.We learned and we had fun. Thank you, Mr. Bono. And I hope it will make you smile to know that all of us girls had little girl crushes on him.
We thought he was very cute. (-:I did watch your beautiful photo tribute and it is clear that he had a wonderful family and a wonderful life. I know he lives on in your hearts and he also lives on in the memories of his students. My sincere sympathy to all of the family.
