Kathleen A. Goulding

kathleen goulding

September 1, 1952 ~ November 9, 2020

Born in: Amityville, NY
Resided in: Smithtown, NY

Kathleen Goulding passed away early on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty years, Peter Goulding; two devoted sons, James (Susan) and Matthew (Kim) Scholz ; an adorable granddaughter, Kendall, precious grandson, due in December; and two loving siblings, Tedi (John) and Tim (Joan).

Born in Amityville, she spent most of her life in New York state, living for the past 20 years in Smithtown. She was a strong, principled, and fun-loving woman who came from a close family. She completed her undergraduate degree (at Marymount Manhattan) and a graduate degree (at SUNY Maritime) while holding down a job and raising two children. Eventually, her long career took her to Estée Lauder, where she dealt with customs officials throughout the world, expediting the delivery of the company’s products to its customers.

She had a wide circle of friends and an unstinting commitment to them and to her family. She was first on the scene when a friend or family member needed help or support, ready with a big smile, a laugh, a comforting presence–and, often, one or two Estée Lauder products. Throughout her life, she was sustained by her deep Catholic faith. When she retired, she spent much of her time as a volunteer for St. Patrick’s of Smithtown Legion of Mary. Her compassion, her vivacity, and her commitment will live on and will comfort and inspire the many people whose lives she touched.

Wake at Branch Funeral Home Smithtown NY Friday November 13th 4-8 PM. Mass at St Patrick’s RC Church Smithtown Saturday November 14th at 9:30 and will be live streamed via the church’s website.
