Kurt Stephen Andersen, age 62, passed away suddenly in Sound Beach, on August 5, 2025.

Born on July 4, 1963, in East Patchogue, Kurt lived a life full of curiosity, creativity, and heart. He had an inventive mind and a passion for exploring the unexplained—always ready to dive deep into a good conversation about the mysteries of the world. Kurt was very proud of his Norwegian heritage and loved sharing stories about his Nordic backround.

He loved to ride motorcycles and was happiest with the road ahead and the wind in his face. Kurt was a driver through and through, he spent much of his life behind the wheel. He took pride in every vehicle he operated.

Kurt also had an entrepreneurial spiritfinding smart and creative ways to make extra money. Whether it was through hands-on work, clever ideas, or just seeing an opportunity where others didn’t, he had a natural talent for making things happen.

He is survived by his beloved significant other, Lisa Simpson, with whom he shared many meaningful years. He was a devoted father to Keith Andersen and Larissa Menichino, and father-in-law to Anthony. He was a proud grandfather to is 3 grandboys, Anthony, Pasquale, and Gianni, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He was also deeply connected to Lisa’s family, forming strong, loving bonds with her children and grandchildren. Kurt embraced them and was a steady, caring presence in their lives.

He was welcomed into Heaven’s gates by his father and mother, Harold Andersen and Marian Ellen Andersen, and his nephew, Robert Andersen.

Kurt will be remembered for his originality, his deep conversations, and the way he always saw the world a little differently. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

  10. I haven’t seen Kurt in prob. 20 years. I don’t even remember how we originally met. Maybe thru the Rocky Point Bowl or maybe Rocky Point Hardware or even a mutual friend. It was some time in the 90’s. I babysat the kids once. They were little… 3-4 yrs old I think. maybe a little older.
