Lawrence Joseph Cervellino was born in Freehold, NJto pround Italian-American parents. 'Larry,' ashis brothers and friends called him, served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War era as an Aviator. He later attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, which led himto many years of service in aircraft andspacecraft design - such as the Lunar Module and the A6 Intruder - with Grumman.The space race led him to Florida, where he met Johanna (nee Cisternino), who wouldbecome his wife of 47 years. They came toLong Island in the early 70's and made it theirhome, where they raised two children and enjoyedlife together. Mr. Cervellino is survived byhis wife Johanna, his daughter Stacey, hisson Peter, and many cherished family membersand friends.
