Leonel Canales, age 44, of Shoreham, New York, died Friday, June 26, 2020. Leonel was born May 12, 1976 in El Salvador. He is the son of the late Remberto Pereira and the late Rayna Canales. He was employed as a cook at La Plage in Wading River, New York. He is survived by his significant other, Bertila Amaya, two cherished sons, Brian Canales and Matthew Amaya, his brothers Gilmar Omar Canales, Jose Youvani Canales, Alberto M. Canales, and his sisters, Maira Pereira, Milagro Canales and Elsa Canales. All arrangements including private cremation have been entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York, 11778. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 6-8 PM. Social distancing directions, limited to 25 people at a time, will be followed.
