Uncle Louie, my heart beats a bit differently today, a piece left agape. You were a man that only needed the simpler things in life and that was realized when Kristina entered it. A dog on your lap, old donuts for the animals, a coors light. The reality of me writing this has not yet sunk in. We all want time, more of it but it is not up to us, you have the insight now, so maybe you could let me know what its like. I hope it as beautiful as they say it is, maybe for you it is like Italy. Perhaps you are with your parents, Rico at your side and Nathan on your lap watching Bonanza. You will always be a cowboy to me. You have a piece of my heart and will always. Keep on keeping on pop pop, Marlboro man, chimney sweeper, Uncle Louie.
I met Lou through his son-in-law, Kevin. He was a gentleman and fun to be around. He was also an awesome tradesman, who could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand. They don’t make them like Lou anymore. He will be missed. My heart goes out to the Nicoletti family.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lou at Gina*s home. We talked about family food and traditions. After leaving I felt I knew him all my life. Thank you Lou for a memorable afternoon I will never forget.
Uncle Lou was my Godfather. My earliest memories of him were giant Easter baskets and making me say the Pledge of Allegiance over and over again. He got such a kick out of it. He told me he was proud of me. The Christmas Eve dinners that he loved to cook for the family were feasts beyond the imagination. He took pleasure from watching how happy everyone was. His advice was always right. He said always buy a house near the water; you’ll never go wrong. I feel blessed that I got to sit with him on the beach at our house in Madison last summer. I will miss you Uncle Louie… I love you and I hope you have a nice water view in heaven.
Thank you for always being incredibly loving and supporting. You inspired me to travel the world and I am beyond grateful that I got to go to Italy and share all of my stories and pictures with you. I will forever cherish all of our memories in my heart. I love you so much Papa.
Uncle Lou you brought us joy and laughter everytime you visited us in Florida…I’m going to miss being teased by you and i’m going to miss your stories..There is an empty place in my heart…
Thank you Uncle Lou for all the laughs, memories, love and teaching me how to do an authentic Feast of the 7 fishes, which I do every year now. We will always miss you.
Lou, thank you for your love and generosity. You were like a surrogate father-in-law to us. We loved you deeply and will always keep you in our hearts and conversations. Heaven is in for a big feast this Christmas Eve. xoxoxo

You had hands of gold and a love for animals and your children, and grandchildren that I admired so much. May you rest in peace.
