Margaret M. Ahearn

margaret ahearn
Loving wife of Francis X. Ahearn Loving Mom and Nana – loved, treasured and adored by her children Laurie (Tom), Maryann (Doug), and Frank (Lisa), grandchildren Jennifer (John), Bethann (Dan), Kaitlyn (RJ), Frankie, Jessica, and Sophia, and great-grandsons Jackson and Owen. “Peggy” lived most of her life with Frank raising her children in the St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish in the Bronx, summering in Rockaway Beach, and then moving to Riverdale, where she met such wonderful friends and neighbors. She spent the last 18 months living at the Bristal at Lake Grove, making new friends and building a new family. Besides her new friends and family, Peggy loved playing BINGO (always winning the jackpot) and going to Jake’s 58 Casino. To know our Mom, Peggy, is to love her warm smile, her kind and generous heart, her great love and devotion to her family, her faith, and her fun-loving nature (oh how she enjoyed her favorite shows, listening to the Yankee game, and splitting a beer with Frank). A beautiful lady inside and out, Peggy always had a special gift of sharing her joy and sense of humor with all of us who have been blessed to be a part of her life. Happy Birthday in Heaven and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Our special thanks to all our dear family and friends for all your love, prayers and support during this very difficult and sad time. 1·4·3

Guestbook

  1. Peggy will be deeply missed at The Bristal. Not only did we love Peggy, but Maryann and Laurie were “honorable residents” as well. When Bingo resumes, it will never be the same without our “Pegalicious” there to win all the jackpots.
Laurie and Maryann, we better see you both for regular visits. We will always have a cappuccino and Bingo card for you ladies. Our deepest condolences to Francis, Laurie and Maryann and your families.

  2. Peg, I’ve had this connection with your family for so many years, from the time you teased me about buying wilted flowers for my daughters elementary school ceremony to the way you joke with me about how much my family cries!!! You were a shoot from the hip kinda lady who’s going to be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you. Thank you for making me feel like a part of your family and rest assured that your memory will continue to live on because there isn’t a day that goes by that Maryann and I don’t speak of Peggy Power and all she has meant to everyone!! We can laugh and cry at the same time! Thank you for giving me my most dearest friend Maryann and just know that she , Laurie and Francis are filled with so much love because of you and they are always so generous with it!! Rest in Peace Peg
    Love Fran Palermo

  3. What a beautiful person inside and out. I will always treasure our yearly visit to stations of the cross and trips to Short beach in the summer. Peg certainly told it like it is and always made me laugh. Rest In Peace You will be missed ..much love. ..Judy Brady

  4. I met Peggy and her family in Sept of 2019 when my dad moved into The Bristal at Lake Grove. I felt our family and Peggy and her family had an immediate connection. We would often run into one another at The Bristal and enjoy the events together – especially Bingo! Peggy always had a smile on her face. She, Laurie and Maryann made all the activities more entertaining. Rest In Peace Peggy – you will be missed❤️
