Margherita Romano, age 87 of Bellport Village passed away on June 7, 2023 at home with her family by her bedside. Born in Trapani, Italy in December 1935. She is very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Because she was an only child was was often lonely, she had 7 children.
She recently celebrated 66 years of marriage to her husband Lorenzo, who she has known since childhood. Seven is her favorite number and often when cooking, especially soup, she would use seven carrots. Some of our fondest memories include large family dinners and gatherings, playing Italian cards and games and listening to Italian music
Margherita is survived by her husband Lorenzo, 90 and her children, Louis, Anna Maria, Andrew(Joelle), Enza(Tom),Lisa(Mike), Daniela, and Michael
There Are 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her!
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Bellport Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregation.

I came to you from a very broken home, and you helped me to realize what it truly meant to be family. I learned from you and dad about love, compromise, and that true strength in a solid marriage requires including God.
I’m grateful for the many talks, laughs, lessons, advice and forever grateful for your beautiful son, my husband, Andrew, I’m grateful for the abundance of brothers and sisters you’ve given me. I’m grateful for my family.
Knowing you are reunited with your mom and dad, and family that have gone on before, is where I find comfort. You are always with us and it is the promise of God that through his son, Jesus, we will see you, again.

They look forward to touring Italy with you and cooking altogether in the Paradise like you talked about. 💛
