  23. My beautiful sister Maria Rose,
We’ve been through so much together.
Growing up together we had a special bond as siblings.
We knew each other’s secrets, & I was honored to be your confidant.
    It was unconditional love.
We had so many private jokes, like when we would call each other & day “ Hi! Sonny Bono”.
Who will make fun of Mommy with me now?
I was always happy to be your go to.
I will miss you so much!
I’m so proud of you & your accomplishments.
I know you will be watching over me in the heavenly paradise you have gone to.
    You’re at peace now.
    Love you so much,
    Your little brother,
    Russell Stephen
    💔💝XOXO

  24. candleMaria made me feel so welcomed when I was placed in her school for just one year. I was lucky to share a room with her and she was extremely kind, thoughtful, hard working and tough. She pushed forward no matter what she faced and she did it with a smile. She is and was a warrior in my eyes.

  25. MARIA ROSE TERESA,
    My beautiful daughter,
I love you more than life itself.
Nothing will ever fill this hole in my heart.
Your resilience & determination were amazing.
You made me so proud for 37 years.
Me, you, & Russell were like the Three Musketeers, especially when we did our Disney trips…..
    A special & close bond.
Despite what you went through, you always kept your funny & facetious sense of humor.
Like when Joe Ierano from your much loved Mt. Pleasant ES called you to touch base.
You would always say “ I’m living the dream Joe.”
So, so many will miss you sorely.
I will miss you so much & think about you every minute of every day.
You were a unique & special person. Gorgeous, smart, sweet, & hard working.
    Green eyes that were mesmerizing.
    Rest In Peace, Sleeping Beauty
Da Vinci & the angels are waiting for you.
    Love You Always & Forever,
    MOM. 💔🎆🌹XXXOOO

    • Stephanie, we are so sorry about Maria’s passing. My family sends our deepest condolences to you and your family. She was such a beautiful woman and left a deep, lasting impression on my daughter and her friends that they will carry with them the rest of their lives. She is with the angels now. May she rest in peace, and I hope you and your family find comfort in the memories of your daughter.

    • Sorry for your loss. Maria was a wonderful teacher. She was my daughter’s favorite teacher at Nesconset Elementary. She was so kind and caring toward her students. So sad to hear of this. Deepest sympathy to you and your family🙏

  26. Maria, I will always remember your beautiful smile and your laughter. Loved our times at the gym, not really working out, our yoga classes in your dining room, our beach days, and our dinner and drinks together. Your friendship will always be remembered and you will be missed by so many. May you rest in peace, knowing how loved you are.
Brian, may you find peace in all of the beautiful memories you have made with Maria. You were truly soulmates.

  27. candleMaria, I first met you as my daughter’s third grade teacher at Accompsett Elementary. My daughter loved having you as a teacher. She would always say how beautiful you were. She was right. Not only on the outside, but on the inside, as well. I had the pleasure working with you at Mt. Pleasant. Your smile and personality lit up a room. You touched so many people in so many different ways, but always left people feeling happy having known you. My daughter’s current college roommate was your student, too, in second grade. Your impact on so many lives will be forever imprinted. My prayer is that your memory should be a blessing to all the lives you touched. God bless you and your family and may they be kept safely in our prayers.

  28. candleMiss Cognetta, my heart is so heavy and I am at a loss for words! You were my third grade teacher 11 years ago. I admired you and what you did for your students. I felt a connection towards you that I will never be able to explain. I was always an advocate your kindness & compassion, but now like never before.

I enjoyed your company so much that after third grade school year was over, I had pleaded with my mom to have you tutor me—even though I was advanced in my studies. I wanted to spend more time with you and did not want to let the school year go just yet. My biggest regret was that I had never reached out after third grade was over; but I always thought about you from time to time.

You had such a pleasant demeanor and positive disposition towards life—that is something I will never forget. I will miss your beautiful soul and that uplifting smile you had! I hope to be as optimistic as you were.
    ❤️🕊
    Love, TJ McDonald

  29. candleMaria was such a beautiful person, inside and out and will truly be missed. I feel so blessed that I had the privilege and honor to meet Maria and call her my friend. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  30. candleMaria – Lighting a candle for the brightest light there was. You are, without a doubt in my mind, forever now young, beautiful, and healthy in heaven. We struggle down here wondering why you were taken too soon…but the love you have left with everyone – teachers, students, faculty, friends, family – will remain forever in our hearts. Your students were so enamored with you that they chose to make a video before YouTube videos were even cool – an amazing duo that they sung in opera-style that I would sing to you for years to come…Maria, until we meet again, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful glass of wine, singing a song, and smiling. Praying for comfort and strength always for your husband, family, and dear friends who loved you with all their hearts.

  31. Thank you Maria for inspiring our daughter to become a writer. Your free writing assignment given to Kay in 2nd grade was so motivating that she made up her mind right then and there on her future career. You will forever be with her, and us. Thank you for being her inspiration, and for inspiring us by your strength and grace.

  32. Heaven has welcomed a beautiful, new Angel! I was blessed to have worked with and known such a kind, loving and thoughtful woman. Maria is at peace, and all who knew her will miss her tremendously. My prayers go out to her husband, Brian, and her loving family.

  33. Maria, I know our friendship is one that will last for all eternity. Even though you are not here, I talk to you each day. I have all the memories we shared. You have always been my angel. I pray that you are at peace and happy….Love you forever…Love you more…my beautiful friend….xo Geralyn xo

  37. candleI will always remember the wonderful times we shared, your beautiful smile and your generous heart. May peace be with you, “My Maria,” Brian and your families.

  38. There are truly no words to capture the beauty of the exceptional person you were, Maria. I am blessed to have been your friend. I have struggled to commit words to a message because they just fall short of the deep feelings that all of your loved ones are experiencing and this reality is hard to accept. We adored you in life and know that your eternal soul will continue to be with Brian, your parents and family, and all who loved you. You gave so much to the world with your bright mind and quick wit, positive attitude and remarkable ability to not only persevere, but thrive- in the face of tremendous obstacles. Your huge heart, smile and gentle manner made the world a better place.
Maria, you will be missed so much and never ever forgotten. You will live on in our hearts. ❤️

  39. candleMy beautiful Maria, my beautiful friend.
My heart will always be a lil broken and I will never stop missing you!
I would give anything for more time, but also grateful for all the years and memories we had together.
I know you will fly high with the angels and your beauty and love will be with me always.
You battled more than we all knew, but always made sure you knew how we were all doing!
I can’t promise my nails will always be on point like yours were or dressed to impress all the time, I can’t promise I will always have a 7-11 coffee with me at all times or have the best sarcastic personality there was, nor that my sense of humor will be as sharp as yours, but I can certainly make sure your legacy lives on and will never forget your beautiful smile and heart.
Everytime I see beauty, I will see you, everytime I hear the word grace, you will come to mind and if Michael Bolton is playing, lord knows I’ll be singing right along with you, the ruff ryders anthem too no doubt!
May everyone whose known you feel blessed and may you rest in eternal peace.
You, my friend, are love and we were all so blessed to know you!
The heavens are rejoicing and your light and strength will always shine bright! 💞

  40. My Beautiful Maria Rose,

25 years ago your vibrant, witty, sarcastic, beautiful soul entered my life and I knew from that moment we would be forever friends. True besties. My ride or die girl. The keeper of all my secrets. Always down for a late night adventure no matter how questionable it might sound or where it would lead to.

Imagining life without you in it is a reality I am not ready to accept. You fought a long hard battle. God knew it was time to give you wings and bring you home even though we weren’t ready to let you go. Maria, I will miss you today, tomorrow and always. I love you more babe XXOO

  41. I love and miss you my Maria! You were truly one of a kind. I don’t understand why you were taken so young. God had a bigger plan for you. Your smile and laugh will always stay in my memory. And I promise to always keep you alive in my heart. Fly high babe! Until we meet again. 🤍🤍🤍

  44. Dearest Maria, We are so sorry to hear of your loss. God has taken a special Angel. You have shown such strength and stamina through out your illness. You were an inspiration to all. You were the love of your dad’s life. There is nothing he would have done, to take this illness away from you. If he could trade places with you, he would have done it in a heart beat. I know that sometimes he could be over bearing, but that was only because he loved you so much. My cousin’s heart is now broken and I don’t know if it will ever heal, but do know just how much he deeply loved you. May God Bless and Keep you safe. And fly with the Angels free from illness and pain.May you rest in peace. With all my love Cousin MaryAnn & Johnny

  45. Stephanie – I am so so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter -Maria. Know that I am thinking and praying for you and your family.

  46. My Dearest Maria
What can I say as I watch you struggle to
hang on to life as it drifts away. Your are my beautiful niece & I will forever treasure the many breakfasts & dinners we shared & laughed ourselves silly. Also our many trips to the malls, the gazebo in patchogue, our trips to the many restaurants in bay shore,
& our many talks at nissequogue beach. We spent a lot of time at the hospital to boost your immune system to extend your life. Although you never wanted to talk about your medical condition we managed to have some conversation about your health problem. I always will remember all the conversations we had as I was your confidant & you trusted my judgement. These last 6 months have been most painful as I watched you slowly slipping away & felt helpless. I was proud to have been your uncle & always respected your strength, courage & that smile that lit up a room. You will always be in my heart as it aches for you.
I will love you forever to the moon & back
    Uncle Ronnie♥️🧡❤️

  47. Maria Rose, Beautiful on the inside and out. May you rest in peace. Sending my deepest sympathy to your family at this difficult time.

  48. Ms. Cognetta was truly one of the best teachers I ever had. She knew exactly what I needed to be successful and was there for me both in and out of the classroom, and kept in touch years after I had her in school. She was such a special, supportive, one of a kind teacher and even came to one of my skating competitions outside of school, which shows how much she truly cared about everybody not only as students, but more importantly, as people. She made me excited to go to school every day and taught me so much not only with regards to school, but also life. She had such a positive impact on my life and I am so grateful to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time.

  49. Dear Stephanie & Family,
I am soo sorry to hear about the loss of your Beautiful Daughter Maria. May she Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.

    • Thank you Vito.
I hope Maria will meet Domenico in heaven, especially since your Dad’s passing was on Feb. 8th.

  50. candleDearest Maria,
It’s been so very difficult for me to write of your loss through my endless tears of sorrow. God now has you in His loving care, but you will always live deep within my heart where treasured memories of how you enriched my life and the lives of my family are held so dear. I can hear your voice with laughter, see your radiant smile and your sparkly green eyes with excitement for living life with such enthusiasm, devotion and sincerity in everything you did. You made happy ocassions, the happiest. I always asked you, “Maria, Call me Jeanie, please.” You always replied winsomely, “Okay, Mrs. G…accompanied with the warmest of hugs and saying love you!”
You definitely were born to teach. I loved our conversations and know how you were so passionate to inspire your students to live with that same determination and genuine concern for themselves and others, loving to learn. Your imprint is indelible.
I love you so much and will always miss you.
My heartfelt condolences to your adoring mom, loving brother, caring husband and everyone who has been blessed to have had you in their lives for this too short a time on earth. Heaven now has angel, dearest Maria Rose.

  51. Your life was blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

  52. Sending our sincere condolences to Stephanie and her family. May your daughter Rest In Peace…
    Lois & Ronald Goldstein

  53. candleDear Brian I am deeply sorry for your loss, I will never forget the fun we all had when we went on the jet skis with Ray ray and myself the smiles and laughs we had for sure had enough energy to spin planet earth it self, she adored you and you adore her, your smiles would light up the sky she will always love and watch over you.. god bless her and may god bless your family..

  54. candleSo so sad that this new video does not display maria’s life with her mother, brother, and best friends- deanna and jackie- so so bizarre. I feel so sad for everyone affected. Brian is a sociopath, and really is a good actor. Maria sees and we’re all getting signs. Cannot even watch this complication, so poorly done xo
