Marilyn Faith Ruma, age 81, of Rocky Point formerly of Arlington, Massachusetts passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2017 in the early morning hours. Marilyn was born June 13, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts. She is one of ten children of the late Joseph Shiner and Teresa Shiner (York) of Dorchester. She was a Receptionist at ABT Associates at 55 Wheeler Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts until her retirement. She is survived by her only child, her son, James Ruma of Brighton, Massachusetts. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Shiner of Braintree, Massachusetts, and her six beloved sisters: Teresa Shiner of South Boston, Massachusetts, Evelyn Creedon of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, Dorothy Burr of Quincy, Massachusetts, MaryJane Carney of Dorchester, Massachusetts, Joy Nazarian of Howard Beach, New York, and Jacqueline Bardasz of Brockton, Massachusetts. Her sister Anna May Shiner of Dorchester, Massachusetts, and her brother Theodore “Raymond” Shiner of South Boston predeceased her. She is also survived by her God Daughter Paula Burr of Quincy, Massachusetts as well as loving nieces and nephews. Lastly she is survived by her beloved caregiver and niece, Robin Cosgrove of Rocky Point, New York. A private cremation under direction of the Rocky Point Funeral Home was arranged by her family. A Memorial Service will be held for Marilyn on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford Street, Arlington, MA.. www.rockypointfuneralhome.com

We will miss you and cherish the memories with you….Your humor especially…mom wanting you to rest at Giovanni’s birthday party so you wouldn’t get too worn out from walking so much and you not needing to rest on one more seat in the park ohhhh the laughter that you brought to this crazy family of ours will never be forgotten!
