Dearest Marina and Mark–Your mother was a great lady and your father was the man against whom I measured all other men. Your mom was a second mother to my brother and I; her loss is immeasurable and will be felt for the rest of our lives. Aunt Mamie knew how to make Christmas sparkle like no one else–oh, those dinners that lasted until Midnight!I first heard Handel’s Messiah while helping decorate your home for Christmas one year and have sung it at least 30 times since then with professional choruses. She shared her love of music with me and now I get to share it with so many others.Dion always made sure to take Aunt Mamie to dinner when he was in New York; or we’d call for take out. It made me very happy that she came to love Dion; we were glad to visit her as often as we could and always felt a warm welcome in her home. We’re thinking of you and will see you soon.
For my mother
Dear Mother, I hope they have games of Poker in heaven You are missed
You are now with the Angels who will guuide you on to your next journey. Rest In Peace
Aunt Mamie was the Mother-in-Law I never had. She welcomed me into the family and treated me like a daughter-in-law. She said and did all the right things. She was a fine women, well versed in every subject that ever came up, and ‘hip’. We enjoyed playing cards, Put & Take, and we ‘enjoyed these days’ around Christmas. Aunt Mamie introduced my daughter and I to Christmas, Italian style. I was blessed to have spent 36 years with her and to have spent holidays with her. Aunt Mamie you will be in my heart forever.
Don’t worry Aunt Mamie. I’ll be good.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all today.
Love is forever with you. Blessings and Peace, the Phippard Family
Heaven gained a beautiful angel! Remembering your wonderful mother and wishing you all comfort and peace during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I can’t help but smile on the inside when I think about the legacy she is leaving behind. You are your mother’s son, completely.

We are here in NY for a day that we hoped would never come. I believed we would be here for your 100th birthday party. It’s hard to imagine not being able to pick up the phone and call you to chat about a movie on TV, the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Plaza, or the music for the symphony season in Jacksonville (you knew all of it. We could talk about anything for hours.I remember one Christmas when it started snowing–you said that Christmas snow is magical. And it still is to this day. You knew how to make every holiday special; and took such joy in sharing your love of Christmas with seniors in your own home. I decorated my desk at work for every occasion. We decorate the house for every holiday because of your example. As we had dinner tonight, Joe, Marie, Mark, Dion and I all realized that you are the last of your generation and now WE’RE the grown ups. As frightening as that sounds, we will hear your voice telling us to ‘be good’ and to ‘enjoy these days’ and we will find our way. We know we are loved.Say hi to everyone in Heaven for us–tell Grandpa, Uncle Henry, Mom, and Dad how wonderful Dion is. We won’t say goodbye, only, until we see you again.
