Mario Mauro, husband to wife of 60 years Judy, father to Paul, Mary, and Joseph. Father-in-law to Joan, Ed, and Ruth. Grandpa to Erin, Sara Ann, Michael, and Fiona. Devoted son to Paul and Giovanna and brother to Rita, Marie, Anna, Cosmo, and Dominic. Beloved brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to so many. Former U.S. Army and New York City Transit Police. A life defined by love of family and service to country. Integrity, duty, warmth. And without question: a one-of-a-kind character, who left us on Memorial Day weekend. “From the graves of patriot men and women spring living nations.”
