Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To Aunt Loretta, Nancy,Donna, and Richard, I am sending you all my love at this time of sadness. Please know that, and always remember, that I had such an incredibly high opinion of your husband and father, and he truly, truly had a huge, and extremely special place in my heart. I have countless, wonderful, special, irreplaceable memories of him and will never let them fade. He was such a man of class and dignity and his love and devotion to all of you was so apparent to me. I feel so,so blessed and fortunate to have been given the joy and privilege of being his niece. Because of him, I know what a real man is. God Bless you all, Love Natalie

  2. I will always think of and remember dear Uncle Matty for his soft spoken, gentlemanly manner. He had lovely blue eyes and a understated sense of humor which I think of right now. He had excellent good taste which was evidenced by his choosing the elegant, beautiful and lovely Loretta for his wife. What a beautiful couple . I can not say Uncle Matty without saying Aunt Loretta . The last of the princely men. We will miss you. Love , Lucianne

  3. My heart is weeping at the loss of my beautiful Uncle Matty. So much like my own father, his oldest brother, he was the Prince of my heart. He was distinguished, handsome, loving, the epitome of class, and had a heart of gold. He had the looks of a Hollywood movie star and carried himself with such dignity. He was dapper and always well dressed. There are no more like him. I will always carry him in my heart and think of him with the highest esteem. The love he had for his beautiful wife, my Aunt Loretta, was monumental. She was his first priority and nothing meant more to him than her. To the very last minute, he carried the picture of the two of them on their very first date, in his wallet, gleaming with pride when he took it out to show someone. He captured the hearts of anyone who met him, including the nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at PBMC who realized upon first meeting him that he was a wonderful and very special man. He won them over immediately. He was the last of his siblings, and has ended an era for many of us. Thank you my darling Uncle Matty, for carrying that torch so gracefully, and keeping that flame lit. I am so glad that my husband and children have been given the blessing and privilege of knowing you, for you have given them a view of what my father was like, and because of you I feel they now know him. I have always adored you,and always will. The little talks we had, reminiscing about the past, and our beloved relatives were so dear to me. Thank you for being my wonderful uncle.

  4. Dear Uncle Matty,It was always so wonderful to get to see you – I love your hugs and kisses! To me, you were the closest thing I had to a grandfather, since I never got to meet mine, but you did a great job filling in for him. I know he must be so happy to see you again, and you must be overjoyed to see him; it makes me happy to know that you’re together again. I’ll miss you very much, and I’ll love you forever! xoxoLove,Emily

  5. Glad I was able to visit with Uncle Matty and Aunt Loretta last week to hold his hand, look into his eyes and tell him how much he was loved. Christine and I have been visiting them for several years on all our trips to NY and enjoyed our time together down memory lane. I know everyone has there special memories and probably pictures to match. I am thankful we were able to have our family reunion and share that time with him, a lasting memory for me, especially the story telling. RIP.

  6. It is with a heavy heart that I share our condolences to Aunt Loretta, Nancy, Donna & Richard. Uncle Matty was a wonderfully caring, kind and generous soul. He was the youngest of his siblings and lived a full and loving life. He was gentle, handsome and funny. Uncle Matty was a loving husband, adored father and grandfather to his family. He is now at peace with his brothers, sisters and parents. Uncle Matty will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. May God Bless you all at this difficult time. You will remain in our thought and prayers.

  7. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss.Sending our deepest sympathy and condolences. With all our love
