Marion Ruth Thorne
July 2, 1931 ~ October 14, 2026
Marion Ruth Thorne, 95, of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, peacefully completed her earthly journey on October 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 2, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the devoted wife of Marvin Clyde Thorne, to whom she was married for 65 years. She was the cherished mother of three children: Gary Thorne (married to Tricia), Laura Friel (married to Connell), and Glen Thorne. She is survived by four grandchildren: Brandon Thorne (married to Rosie), Kaitlyn Rohan (married to Joseph), Kayla Sabol (married to Thomas), and Connell Friel (married to Kateri); and five great-grandchildren: Declan Rohan, Cailey Rohan, Shauna Rohan, Oliver Sabol, and Jack Sabol.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Clem Wilga, and her three brothers, Richard Gliwa, Thaddeus Gliwa, and Joseph Gliwa.
A true matriarch, she was the heart and glue of her family. She took great joy in hosting holiday parties and gatherings, filling the home with warmth, great food, and the laughter of multiple generations. She stayed in close touch with everyone, making sure relatives near and far remained connected and that family bonds stayed strong across the years. Her home was always open, and her presence brought people together. She also loved the United States of America; her family home was always adorned with patriotic red, white, and blue decorations, inside and out.
The family invites friends and relatives to share memories and condolences at www.branchfh.com.

Gary, Laura, Glen and Family,
There are no words to express how deeply saddened I am to hear the passing of Aunt Marion.
Everytime Uncle Marvin and Aunt Marion would come visit us in Newfoundland it was always an exciting time and so much fun. I can’t leave out how much I looked forward and loved our phones and FaceTime. She will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will miss her.
Rest in Peace sweet angel and Thank You for the beautiful memories that I will continue to treasure.
