Mary Louise Doctor, 72, Devoted Mother, Inspiring Grandmother

Mary Louise Doctor, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2024, in New York. Born on January 25th, 1952, in Hemingway, South Carolina, Mary brought immense joy and laughter to her family and the world.  A graduate of Georgetown County School System,  Mary moved to New York City after graduation, where she dedicated her life to serving others. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and worked tirelessly in the fields of education, healthcare, and human services for over 30 years.

Mary was a remarkable woman, known for her unwavering strength and resilience. She embraced the challenges of single parenthood with grace and determination, creating a loving and stable home for her cherished daughter, Sharon Denise Doctor. Mary’s dedication to her family was an inspiration to all who knew her.  In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mary loved to travel, was a talented and creative individual. She was a master seamstress, cook, and compassionate Nurse’s Assistant, and she found great joy in spending time with her granddaughter, Madison.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Anthony Rosen and Louise; sisters Jannie and Debra; and brother Anthony.   Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon (Stephen); cherished granddaughter, Madison Murphy; and one sister Sarah Coles, and several nieces and nephews who provided unwavering love and support.   

May Mary Louise Doctor rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and the enduring bond shared with her daughter, Sharon. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.
