Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. She gave a mohawk one summer as a kid. I thought she was awesome for it, and still do.

Going to the statue of liberty with her and Teresa

Making children pull weeds at your house while they are on vacation will always be cruel…lol…

Larry bird and Lucky the parakeets….. lucky lucky lucky me I’m a lucky sun of a gun… seriously who finds a parakeet and teaches it to sing that

Bickering with Cog “shut up babe”, “ no you shut up babe”….still makes me laugh

So many other great memories could go on forever. We love you Aunt Mary❤️

    • I remember the mohawk! And the Statue of Liberty adventure… that was good exercise.
There was a lot singing in that house 😉 … thanks for the lucky son of a gun song reminder Alex.:)

  2. I made zucchini bread a few weeks ago, and it will always remind me of her (although I called hers compost bread which made it even better). Zucchini, often carrot & walnuts. Yellow or regular raisins. Whats that…Orange peel? Is that a chocolate chip!?!

Weeding isn’t such terrible chore in my adult life. She gets an “A” for effort for taping my toes with popsicle sticks to try and straighten ’em out. (which also made weeding more of a challenge).

Love to Aunt Mary… I hope she’s running around with all of her furries (Peanut, Penny, Muffin & the gang) & feathers in Heaven.

    • LOL, Melanie. How about her delicious fudge — always surprise ingredients, but always great. She was the vegetable maker for our family gatherings and they were outstanding!

  3. How does one sum up all that Aunt Mary has meant to us. Her devotion to family was unmatched, especially to her special nephew, Jimmy. I don’t think there was one family member that Mary has not helped in some way. She had a heart of gold and was thrifty to a fault—she was the original recycler! Next to family, Mary’s love of animals showed in her menagerie of pets from her monkey, Chico, to her last devoted dog, Poko, with a list of pets in between too long to list, at times five at a time. Many times we would leave Mary’s Beauty Parlor in tears over a too short hair cut, but the freebie was too good to pass up. It was Mary who styled my hair on my wedding day. She cared for many great nieces and nephews who relished her special pancakes but also dreaded the weeding of the driveway. Mary loved life. Music brought joy to her life and boy could she dance! A harder worker you will never find, but she also liked a good party. From skiing to camping and waterskiing she was an all out participant.

They broke the mold when Mary was born. As a Depression baby she lived through hard times, but never complained. We love and thank you for the example you set on navigating life’s ups and downs. We are glad your struggle is over, Rest In Peace. So, Aunt Mary, we say Que Sera, Sera, until we meet again.
