Resided in: Coram, NY

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Maryann Skaritka on December 16th, 2025. Maryann was born on May 21st, 1958 to her loving parents Kurt and Audrey Giller. Maryann treasured her younger sister, Kathy Elizabeth Giller, who she cherished deeply, as she loved her sister with all of her heart.

Maryann is endlessly loved and remembered by her devoted husband of over 43 years, John; her dedicated sons, Daniel, David, and Matthew; her loving daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Brianna; and her precious grandson, Elias. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Kurt and Audrey, her cherished sister, Kathy, her sweet grandmother, Elizabeth Roman and her dearest Aunt Audrey.

Her family was her greatest earthly treasure, and she poured herself into their lives with patience, warmth, and unwavering love. Her love for her husband was a sacred bond rooted in faith, strengthened by devotion, and carried through every season with loyalty and deep affection. Her sons were the pride of her heart – Daniel, her first for everything who taught her the depths of motherhood, David, her source of laughter and joy, and Matthew, her devoted peacemaker and daily helper. Her grandson, Elias, gave her some of the most recent happiest days, filling her heart with immense joy, newfound strength, and a love so pure it lit up her life in ways only a grandchild can.

She enjoyed traveling to Texas, Amish Country, and her most favorite vacation destination Disney World. She loved to plan amazing trips for her family and see the excitement and joy on her children’s faces. She thoroughly enjoyed the happiness that was shared by watching performances, dining at restaurants, the rides she was able to enjoy, interacting with characters, and finishing the day with fireworks.

Maryann was an avid reader and book reviewer. She loved to read and work from her comfy chair and remarkably read over a thousand books. It was one of her favorite pastimes. She won countless book contests by helping authors conclude stories, create characters, and contribute editorial advice.

When Maryann spoke, people listened. When she prayed, people felt comforted. When she acted, it was always with purpose and compassion, her heart overflowed for many. She was a fighter, she was a prayer warrior, she was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Maryann constantly placed others before herself. Whether through a thoughtful message, a carefully chosen Bible verse, or a heartfelt card in the mail, her selflessness touched countless lives and offered comfort, encouragement, and hope to anyone who needed it. She was a devoted prayer warrior, lifting others in prayer daily and interceding on their behalf with unwavering faith. Her impact was profound, leaving a legacy of love, care, and spiritual strength that continues to inspire all who knew her.

Throughout her life, she endured seasons of pain, loss, and suffering that would have shaken even the strongest hearts. Yet through every trial, she remained steadfast in her faith, walking hand in hand with her Savior. Maryann knew that God would complete the good work that He started in her. God was faithful to her in provision, a loving family, and finally taking her home to rejoin her loved ones in Heaven forever. She will be loved endlessly, never forgotten, and we will join her again one day in paradise.
