Michael C. Stanek, 72, of Miller Place passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2022.  Beloved husband of Sharon and loving father of Kerri (Mike) Neligon and Chris (Erin).  Loving grandfather of Connor, Kaitlin, Olivia, Emma and Colin. Devoted brother of Lynn Calby.  He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.

Mike was born on February 21, 1950 in Manhattan to Charles and Lillian Stanek. He grew up in Huntington and has been a long time resident of Miller Place.  Mike was a beloved math teacher for 30 years at Sachem South and East.  He also coached varsity bowling and golf for many years.
A kind, fun, generous man, Mike had a great sense of humor.  He loved the Yankees, the Giants, golf and traveling but most of all he loved his family.  Mike and Sharon were college sweethearts and shared a wonderful marriage of 49 years.  His children and grandchildren were also the light of his life.  He was always there for them.  He especially loved playing with his grandchildren, watching their sporting events, helping with math homework, planning family vacations and helping care for them.
Mike had a profound impact on everyone who knew him and there are no words to express how much he will be missed.
