The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Michael H. Thompson 's name.
Thank you for remembering this amazing man!
Thank you, Ellen for your beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul.
Mike’s expertise and leadership were instrumental in the project management and technical support for Citibank’s first non-mainland US connection to CB-Puerto Rico. Mike’s achievement marked the beginning of numerous successful connections with other foreign Citi affiliates, each project benefiting from Mike’s unique blend of technical acumen and strategic foresight.
Working alongside Mike was always a pleasure. His dedication, kindness, and mentorship left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. His legacy is not just in the projects he led or the innovations he introduced, but also in the community he built and the colleagues he inspired.
Mike’s absence will be deeply felt by his colleagues at Citishare and by all who had the privilege to know him.
My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to work with him. Mike’s contributions to our field and the positive spirit he brought to our team will never be forgotten.
Thank you for that beautiful tribute to this exceptional man
Thank you Nina. Mike was always so positive and so much fun to be with..
Thank you Mike for the inspiration, walks, and Lemonade!
Thank you Jason for sharing that wonderful memory.. I am glad you were able to have that time with Mike. Hope you and your family are well.
I echo everything written by my former Citishare colleagues. Working with Mike was a pleasure. He was generous with his time, knowledge and humor. He was a true teammate in that he supported everyone, applauded success and celebrated the common win. I learned a lot from Mike and not just about payments. He encouraged me to be confident and curious. He was one of the good guys. Sending love to his family.
Thank you for your thoughtful memories of this wonderful man.
I worked w Mike at Citi and was blessed with his knowledge sharing. Not only business but life. He spoke lovingly of his family and proudly of his time in Vietnam. Heartfelt condolences to the family.
Thank you Jim for sharing his story.
Thank you, Vanessa, for sharing his story. He used to tell me to draw things when I was growing up also. He always said “you don’t understand it if you can’t draw it” and I still follow that advice to this day.
Perhaps the most important of Mike’s traits was his honesty and integrity, exemplified by his love of family, friends, colleagues and country and the palpable joie de vivre with which he embraced life.
Thank you, Mike, for setting such a good example of a life well-lived. The experience of working with you has had and will continue to have an impact on my own life.
Sending condolences, hugs and blessings to his family.
Thank you Carol for the kind words. Love how you mentioned that “you don’t understand it if you can’t draw it”. He used to tell me that all the time when I was learning things. In fact, I found myself drawing things out CONSTANTLY in my own professional career during meetings and also in my personal life when planning things like home renovations.
Thank you for sharing his story.
Condolences to Mike’s family and friends. I worked with Mike at Citishare Corporation beginning in Lake Success and then Long Island City. He was a caring and wonderful person, very good at what he did and always take the time to listen to what you have to say and give you pointers if you needed to solve a problem. One could learn from him due to his vast knowledge in the industry. I used to love to hear him talk about when he was in the Army and some of the things he had to do. Will be missed. RIP/SIP
Thank you, Norma, for sharing his story. My Dad always spoke highly of his time at Citishare. He truly loved working there.
Thank you Daniellle.
Thank you, Margaret, for sharing his story. My Dad was indeed always curious, a trait that I’m proud to have picked up from him. You’re dead on about his smile. We used to joke that he couldn’t take a bad picture if he tried.
Thank you Annemarie 🙂
Thank you for sharing his story.
Such a sad day. Mike has been my friend since 1975, when we started working together at FNCB/Citi. Our families became close friends when we all lived in Belgium, and that warm friendship endures to this day. He was always kind, caring, helpful, and knowledgeable and we have so many fond, quirky, silly events to remember from our time outside work.
Mike you were one of the best, and the world needs a lot more Mike Thompsons these days. We can’t make it on friday, but will raise a glass or two to celebrate him.
Loving memories from Richard and Lindy London, Gary and family Dublin, Jenny and family Mamaroneck
You will never be forgotten.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m glad we were able to get together a few years ago. I know my Dad loved it.
I’m so sorry for your loss. So many fun memories hanging out with him at your house during high school. I still remember the when we were taking down your pool, and Mike Jay and I had a plan to finally tackle him and take him down. I proceeded to get a swift kick to the chest that sent me flying backwards. He was a great man and I’m lucky I got to be around him
Thanks for sharing his story Joe. I have fond memories of you all at the house too.
We are so saddened by the news of Mike’s passing. He was such a kind and gentle sole.
He will be sorely missed. May he Rest in Peace.
Love, Laurie and Bill
