Crowley Sr., Michael J., loving husband and father passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Born on March 28, 1935 in County Cork, Ireland to Michael and Kathleen Crowley. He came to America in 1957 and served in the U.S Army and was Honorably Discharged March 31, 1964. Married the love of his life Marie Crowley (Organ) in 1964 and would have celebrated their 56th anniversary this April. Mike worked as a Systems Analyst for NY Tel. for 30 years until he retired in 1993. He was a talented ice skate sharpener and enjoyed being with his friends at the Rinx at Hidden Pond Park for 20 years. He enjoyed friendships and comradery playing golf with the Emerald golf club all over Long Island. His 8 grandchildren were the light of his life and he never missed an important moment, game, dance, play, competition or family gathering. He was always one you could count on for a casual conversation about life, sports, Irish history or anything you could desire. An avid reader, he kept his mind sharp after retirement finishing a range of books and playing crosswords. Mike was the devoted husband of Marie; father of Michael Crowley, Noreen Mills (Steve), Thomas Crowley (Kathleen), Patrick Crowley (Lisa) and Kathleen O'Connor (Sean); Loving Papa to Sean, Grace, Stephen, Christen, Liam, Claire, Michael and Braden. Eldest brother of 12; Pat, Kitty, Lydia, Patsy, Flor, Derry, Anna, Maureen, Eileen, Theresa and Liam; Uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday February 28, 2019 from, 2-4:30 and 7-9, at the Branch Funeral Home in Smithtown, NY. Funeral services will be on Friday March 1, 2019 at 10am at St. Patrick's Church in Smithtown with a ceremony to follow at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton NY.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. Memories of love and friendship are the treasures that you will carry with you always. I met Mike when I was very young when his sister Kitty married my Uncle Charles Murphy. When my uncle passed away, I got a chance to renew our acquaintance. Please know he loved you all and was so proud to be a father and grandfather.

  6. Kathy and Family. Watching your sadness over the last months of your Dad’s illness has been heartbreaking. While we never met him, it was very clear how much you and all the family loved him and him you. Just reading his obituary says it all. Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend. What more can one say about a life well lived. My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time. May his love for you provide comfort as you morn his loss.
