Michele M. Martin passed away on January 23, 2018 at 64 years old after a year long battle with Leukemia. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother of Matthew Stutts, Kerri Federici, Coryn and Jocelyn Martin. Adored mother-in-law of Gerard Federici and Ann Marie Schaeffler. Cherish grandmother of Briar-Rose, Vincenzo, Giuliano and Van. Devoted sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many.Michele was an exclusive agent of Allstate in Northport, NY for 18 years. She was a local philanthropist and community advocate often putting the needs and struggles of others before herself.Michele said on many boards including her church council, SCWBEC, Smithtown Business and Professional Women's Network, Patchogue LeTip, Town of Brookhaven Dress for Success, Middle Country Library Foundation and the Rotary of Ronkonkoma. Michele also worked at homeless shelters, food drives, soup kitchens, etc. to help others that are less fortunate. In 2013, Michele received an award from the Allstate Foundation for the Allstate Against Abuse Volunteer of the Year. In that same year, she was also awarded the Inspirational Women on the Move 2013 from the Women on the Move LI business group. Michele also volunteered for CYO track and basketball as well as AAU basketball for 16 years when her children were growing up. She was a coach, fan and cheerleader to her children. Michele had a strong, positive, loving, free spirit. She was a kind, gentle soul with the fight and heart of a warrior. She was the type of person that you could count on no matter the situation. She will be forever missed by all those that knew her.As you think of Michele, try not to mourn her death. Instead, celebrate her life and cherish the good times and memories that you shared. We are all blessed for having known her. #ShePersisted
