September 17, 1939 – October 27, 2025
Nicholas L. Pinto, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by his four loving children.
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Queens, Nick graduated from Xavier High School, Class of 1957, where he developed a lifelong admiration for the Jesuit ideals of integrity, service, and learning. He went on to earn his degree from St. John’s University, beginning a life and career marked by dedication and achievement.
Nick proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career with IBM, spending more than 30 years selling computer systems and cultivating lasting relationships with colleagues and clients. After retiring from IBM, Nick continued his professional journey with DMR Trecom reflecting his enduring commitment to innovation and excellence.
In his younger years, Nick loved the freedom of the open road, taking motorcycle trips that reflected his adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world. He had a deep love of music, especially the timeless sounds of Neil Diamond, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Beach Boys, and he loved to sing in church, where his strong voice and joyful spirit filled the pews.
Nick’s deep faith in God guided every part of his life. It was the foundation of his kindness, optimism, and devotion to others, and a source of strength through every season of his journey.
Later in life, Nick was blessed with a loving marriage to Lucia Murphy, with whom he shared many joyful years.
He was the proud father of Lisa Colby (John), James Pinto (Doriann), Rebecca Villano (John), and Melissa Danzi, and the adoring grandfather of eight: Samantha (Theodore), John Anthony (Carina), Alexandra (Dominick), Isabella, John Nicholas, Michael, Helena, and Vincent. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Nick is survived by his loving sisters, Angela (the late Joel) and Maria, and was predeceased by his parents, James and Julia (Damato), and his brothers Frank (Betty) and James. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his aunt whom he loved deeply and who brought great joy to his life.
Nick cherished life’s simple pleasures — golf outings, lively lunches and dinners with the many friends he stayed close to from Xavier, IBM, and beyond, spending time with his family on Long Beach Island. He was a lifelong reader, loved completing the New York Times crossword puzzle, and maintained a deep interest in Jesuit education and values. Ever connected, Nick delighted in keeping up with friends and family through Facebook, sharing stories, humor, and encouragement.
Nick will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, intelligence, and boundless love for family and friends. His kindness, faith, and genuine spirit touched all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting friendship.

Oh Nick, host of our Xavier ‘57 luncheons, how I will miss you. It was all so much fun. Thanks!
Nick, may you be welcomed by your friend, Jesus, into His Kingdom. It was always good to run into you at Xavier! God bless all your family
A cherished neighbor. I was Born and raised in the yellow house across the street from Nick. I don’t recall the first time I met him… he’s been around since my earliest memories. Climbing the tree in his yard, sometimes he would come and shoot basketball with me and always was one to chat. Condolences and prayers to the family. A cherished neighbor whom I only have positive memories of. May he rest in peace.
