Patricia S. Ryan

patricia ryan

Patricia (Pat) was a lifelong educator, serving the greatest portion of her career at St Anne’s School, Sts. Philip and James School & St. Anthony’s High School as a loved and admired English teacher, coach and mentor to hundreds of students. She felt that her first priority was to instill in her students that they could achieve anything and she helped them to be the best they could be. Her faith in God, her sense of humor and the respect she showed her students led her to be admired by many. Pat enjoyed spending her time with her family, first and foremost. Nothing came before that. Going to athletic events to support her children and students was her passion as well. She was a huge fan and supporter. She naturally made people feel welcome and supported whenever she met them. Pat served as a lector and Euchristic Minister in her Parish of St. Patrick, Smithtown for over 40 years. Beloved wife of Frank. Loving mother of William (Sandra), Kathleen (Edmund) Nitz, Jeanne (Timothy) Sullivan, Michael (Elizabeth) and Patricia (Thomas) Gilmartin. Adored grandmother of Devon, Justin, Malorie, Andrew (Glencora), Ryan (Hannah), Kevin, Emma, Kailey, Caitlyn and Hannah. Cherished great grandmother of Nolan & Harper. She has left an indelible mark on us all.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Please accept our deepest sympathies at this time. I will always remember your mom’s warm and welcoming smile. Thoughts and prayers to your family at this time.

  2. Mrs. Ryan was my teacher in St. Anne’s for 3 years. She taught Religion. She also taught us some Latin. She had an amazing sense of humor and was beloved by the students.

When my family moved to Smithtown, I was overjoyed to see Mrs. Ryan and her husband at church. We were lectors together for many years.

She will be missed terribly. She left an indelible mark on the lives of so many children.

    May she rest in peace!

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Kevin Scanlon
