I’m so sorry we never got to meet in person. I’ve heard so many stories about how wonderful you were; I know we would have had a lot of fun getting to know each other.The very short introduction on Skype was less than I had hoped for, but something that I am grateful that I had. I’ve never lost a family member so soon after gaining them; I’m not entitled to miss you, but I do.I hoped that I would also get to call you Uncle Reiny one day. I’m sorry that I didn’t get the chance. I hope that if, somehow, you can still be pleased, it will please you that your memory – shared by a family that loves you very much – will have a place in my heart.My condolences to that family, both the members that I’ve met and those that I haven’t. By every account I’ve ever heard, he was a great man, and his passing is a tragic loss.

Reiny, how we’ll miss your smiling face…you’ll be greatly missed by everyone who knew you.
Even though we lived far apart and we didn’t see much of each other since we were kids I do have great memories of those times. I remember Reiny as being intelligent, full of good humor and always having a great laugh. I will cherish and miss those times we had together as cousins. God Bless the Schierwagen family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

When we first moved back to Long Island and joined the MSYC Reiny was one of the first to welcome us to the club. Always a warm welcome and a good joke or two. Whenever we had a storm or bad weather he was always there to check to see if we were Ok and if we needed something. It seemed to me that the only thing more important to Reiny than the club and its members was his loving family. We will miss you my friend. Jeff & Christine

Reiny filled a room with laughter, generosity, and kindness. But his greatest legacy will always be his beloved family. His passing has left a hole in our hearts and in the world that will not be filled by another. He was one of a kind!!!

I only knew Reiny for a few months , while I was his Mother’s caregiver. What a delightful person he was! He was so caring and loving to them. My heart goes out to all his family. I will miss him .

I will always remember you playing your clarinet in church.Helping me get my first car, removing the engine, and helping me rebuild it, is a memory I will always remember of you. You blessed and helped many people, and will be sorely missed.
