  2. It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to a cherished friend. Since our first meeting in 1989, Msgr. has been an integral part of our family. We have so many fond memories of him–too many to relate here. He has shared our happy times and celebrations as well as our sad and difficult times. He was always there for us and will be missed so much. We send our thoughts and prayers to his nieces, nephew and other family members.

  3. God has you in His arms, we have you in our hearts. Rest in Peace Monsignor Love, The Ries Family

  6. I wish I could express what is in my heart right now. How deeply saddened I am to the point of tears. What a wonderful man! What a beautiful priest! What a caring teacher! But more: . . . a mentor . . . a friend . . . a role model. His warmth, humor, gentleness, support, example and faith made him a hero in my teen years at Pius and an inspiration for adulthood. ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’

  7. We are deeply saddened by his passing. A beloved Priest at our St. Peter’s The Apostle R.C. Church in Amagansett. We will truly miss his meaningful homilies. He is a true Angel and we are so honored to have known him. He has brought our small Church so much happiness and many memories we will never forget. Our Sympathy to his family.

  8. Fond memories of ‘Fr. Charlie’s’ influence on our family during the 80’s at Sts. Philip and James Parish and School. 6 years ago he was especially delighted to hear of our son Fr. Paul Lambert’s ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. Fr. Charlie and family will be remembered in our prayers as well as in a Mass offered by Fr. Paul. RIP

  9. My family attended St. Martin of Tours Church in Amityville with the Guarino family. Charles and I graduated from St. Martin’s grammar school together in 1955. I had intermittent contact, but kept in touch over the years.I know he had a exemplary ministry , hearing from my family on L.I. Condolences to the family.

  10. It is with a sad heart that I write this message, happy for Monsignor for he is with his God but very sad for his flock who loved And adored him. What a wonderful man and priest He will be missed by so many , we feel very privileged to have known Monsignor Charles Guarino. Our deepest sympathy to his family

  13. Thank you for sharing your intelligence, knowledge & wisdom with us during your years at St.Pius, and for being such a positive role model for young Catholic men. Your life was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing you. Rest in peace in Christ.

  14. Msgr Guarino was a wonderful person and very icaring of his parishioners. I will miss his thoughtful homilies and spiritual guidance. I looked forward to seeing him at the 9am mass in Amagansett every Sunday. He will be missed God Bless and Rest In Peace

  15. Father Guarino helped me greatly at a pivotal time in my faith life. May he rest in peace in the Lord, and may his family and other loved ones be comforted by the embrace of God.

  16. It is hard to believe that you’ve already been gone from our lives for nearly a year. You were a dear friend and we will never forget all the times we shared–both happy and sad. There will forever be a void in our lives with your absence.

  17. Just found out about this very sad news. My wife and I moved down to Georgia 22 years ago and left our beloved Home in Smithtown. Father Guarino helped us thru some tough times many years ago. He was the only person that we would have marry us and the only one we would have Baptize our first daughter. He was a Great Priest, a Great friend, and a great follower of Christ. He is the reason that I came back to the church and for that I will be forever greatful. Rest in peace in heaven with Jesus old friend.
