In loving memory of Richard Allen Schlachter Senior age 79 12/19/1946 – 06/01/26
Last surviving son of Henry and Marie Schlachter.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard a Schlachter Senior.
He lived life defined by his dedication to his family and friends and strong work ethic. Richard served in the Army during the Vietnam war, which he was very proud of.
He was an accomplished, carpenter, farmer, and ranch hand.
Richie is survived by his daughter Holly Aprea , Her children Jessika, Christie and Robert
His son Richard A Schlachter Jr.
Son Peter J Schlachter, wife Jeanine and children Micheal and Christian
As well as his very large family of nieces and nephews.
Richard was proceeded in death by his mother and father Marie and Henry Schlachter, his wife, Christie Dalton, Schlachter and three brothers and three sisters.
A celebration of life will be held At 1 PM on Sunday 06/07/2026 At Richard’s home
An hour viewing will be held on Monday 06/08/2026 From 11 to 12 at Branches funeral home in Rocky Point Proceeding to the Holy Ceplica Cemetery on 112 Coram for burial.
Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts. Richard will be deeply missed in forever remembered forever in our hearts.

  1. Hey, buddy. I hope you are keeping your memories of how we both avoided Nam and spent time in Germany but in separate units. I did so enjoy our talks and occasional visits. We did pretty good for a couple of old guys from the woods of Ridge. To be continued.
