Richard Kenneth Knutson, age 82, of Shoreham, NY, died Wednesday, April 30. Born February 16, 1932 in Jamaica, NY, he was the son of the late Ture and the late Gertrude (Belms) Knutson. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 11/23/1951 to 11/22/1955. He was employed by Shoreham Wading River Schools as a Guard. He is survived by his loving wife: Marie Ethel (Horvath) Knutson ,daughter: Jill Carol Joshi of PA, sons: Richard Eric Knutson of Shoreham, NY, Craig Raymond Knutson of PA, and five Grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, May 2 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 716 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY with Rev. Jeffrey H. Kolbo officiating. Burial will be follow in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale on Friday, May 2 at 12:00 pm. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 1 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. His support for the mission and work of our historical society and love for family and community, will be long remembered.
