  2. candleWhat a wonderful guy! I picture Richie coming into Ed‘s office and opening the bottom drawer of the desk to get candy 😝. Richie was such an essential part of NYRA‘s operation. He had such a dry sense of humor, and was so helpful. We all loved Richie. Sincere condolences to you, Camille.

  3. Barry and I absolutely adored Richie. He was refined, kind, and a true gentlemen. We were blessed to have known him. We will truly miss him.

  4. candleCondolences to Richie’s family, I worked with Rich from 1974 at Belmont and later at the Saratoga meetings until 2014. Always helpful and accommodating in his capacity for NYRA..
God bless and rest in peace Richie, sorry for your loss, Camille.

  5. candleCamille,
My heart is so heavy for you. Richie was truly one of the good ones—kind, warm, funny . You could see how much love he carried for you in everything he did. He wasn’t just a wonderful husband, he was a light to everyone lucky enough to know him.
I can’t begin to imagine the depth of your loss, but please know you are not alone. We are all here for you—ready to hold you up, to listen, or just to sit beside you in the silence.
May the love you and Richie shared bring you comfort in the days ahead, and may his memory always be a blessing that lives on in your heart.

    With all my love,
    Lucia Abreu

  7. candleDear Camille, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Richie, your companion and best friend. He was truly a wonderful person, and I will always remember how kind, warm, and genuinely funny he was to me at NYRA—he had a way of making every interaction brighter. It’s clear how special he was, and how much he meant to everyone who knew him, especially you. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. May his memory be eternal.
