Kathryn, Paul and Amanda have been blessed that we were able to celebrate her 93rd Birthday with us in our home a few days prior to her passing with calls from family, flowers, a balloon and her favorite Carvel cake. We were happy to also introduce her to many firsts including: a cruise to Nova Scotia, Lake George trips, the Hamilton Broadway show, many special restaurants including the Russian Tea Room, Becco and Oheka Castle, Old Westbury Gardens and her big trip to Boca Raton, Florida, seeing the Japanese Tea Gardens, Loxahatchee, and the Artificial Coral Reef.
Due to the current Pandemic crisis, funeral arrangements will be private and managed by Branch Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made in the memory of Rita Hines to the inaugural Paul, Kathryn and Amanda Borowski Caregiver Scholarship for a Graduating Hauppauge High School Senior, which was created in March 2020. Checks are to be payable to "Hauppauge Educational Foundation", with the Scholarship name in the memo section.
This scholarship is given to recognize a HHS Senior who has been a caregiver for a parent, sibling or grandparent at the sacrifice of impacting them academically or their inability to be involved in extracurricular activities.

Mom, you have been the best mother in law, a guy could ask for. We have been blessed to have you with us in our home these past five years especially. So many fun times and memories and smiles created. You are missed. Rest in Peace. As you called me, your “favorite son in law”, Love, Paul
