Robert A. Gohn, 86, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at home in Mount Sinai NY on March 3, 2019 in the loving care of Marie, his wife of 60 years, and his children. Born in Long Island City, Bob moved after high school to Middletown NY, where he married Marie V. (Lynch) Gohn and started their family of six children. They lived for 23 years in Farmingdale NY as active members of St. Kilian's Catholic community. In 1986 they moved to Miller Place (and later Mount Sinai), living out their faith in St. Louis de Montfort parish. Bob was well known in the community as the generous owner of Pilot Plumbing Supply, which he founded in 1969 in Miller Place, expanded in Rocky Point and passed to his son Dan, before becoming a branch of Blackman Plumbing Supply. Bob relished time with his children and grandchildren at the family's beach home in Amagansett, as well as travel to various European and Central American destinations.Bob was the cherished father of Robert J. Gohn (and Patricia); Audrey M. (Gohn) Seidl (and Robert); Andrew J. Gohn (and Rita Rodriguez); Kathleen M. (Gohn) McIntyre (and Francis); Kevin J. Gohn (and Claire); Daniel R. Gohn (and Margaret). He was brother to Eileen Rowe (of Middletown), and beloved by his 13 grandchildren Bobby, Katie, Peter, Allie, Frankie, Tommy, Kerry, Brian, Jimmy, Jackie, Michael, Mary, and Becky, as well as great-grandson Aidan. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at the Branch Funeral Home, Miller Place, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10am at St. Louis de Montfort Church in Sound Beach, with burial at St Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
