  1. Dear Barbara,

Dickie and I send our deepest condolences for your loss. Dickie said Bobby was a quiet guy but a friend when you needed him. I agree. He was. He could be tough, but you could tease him and get a smile. He was always nice to me and I remember that big smile and those blue eyes.
I was honored to be in your bridal party and it was very special to me.
You have always been there for other people in their time of need. I hope that this noted shows I am always there for you also.
    All our love and friendship,
    Janet and Dick

  2. We are so saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Bobby Romans. He was the salt of the earth, a true friend, someone we respected and cared for so much. Our days knowing him, working with him and having him become part of our extended family, not only personally but also at Suffolk Trap and Skeet and then years beyond, at Whip-poor-will Camp, will forever hold a special place in our families hearts. He was someone I knew I could visit the Island and stop by the range and still see him there. Although I left the Island many years ago, he always remembered me and would never be shocked to see me, he would just say “Hey kid, what brought you here?” then give me a big hug. For those that knew him best, the rough exterior he put out there, was only that. We saw his soft, warm, kind, caring inside, and we are grateful for that. It will forever be different now at the range on our visits. My last time seeing him there, not too long ago, I am so glad I hugged him a little tighter and the last thing he said was “take care of yourself”. He was a true friend to my Father, Dick DeMott, who is heartbroken about his passing. I’ve reached out to Suffolk Trap and Skeet and they are flying the flag a half mast in honor of him and will put a picture of him we sent them, in the club in his honor. Our sincere condolences go out to those that were closest to him, and our heart aches for their loss. We are grieving with you. Sincerely, Theresa & Dick DeMott

  3. Dear Barbara, so sorry for your loss. I used to see Bob down on the beach in Port Jeff or Ceder beach in the early morning hours, poles in the surf and the cigar in his mouth! Very quiet man but never the less a good friend. The first time I pulled up to the bech in my Police car he looked a little annoyed, as if to say “What the …….” then when he saw it was me just turned around and kept fishing!!
    Rest in Peace Bob !!!!
