Steven Wroblewski
May 23, 1955 ~ April 17, 2026
Born in:
Brooklyn, NY
Resided in:
Commack, NY
Steven Wroblewski passed away in the early morning hours of April 17, 2026, at the age of 70, with his wife, Linda, at his side.
Steven was born on May 23,1955 in Brooklyn, New York, to Helen and Roman Wroblewski. He grew up in Greenpoint, where he belonged to Saint Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Parish. Steven graduated from Saint Stanislaus Elementary School, where the nuns perfected his penmanship. He was an altar boy and a member of the Saint Aloysius YMCC, where he forged many lifelong friendships. Steven graduated from Bishop Loughlin High School in 1973.
After high school, Steven worked with his father for several years in the food industry. In 1981, he joined the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where he worked until his retirement in 2017. He began his career as a bus driver in Brooklyn and later became a coordinator at the MTA Flushing Depot. He was well known at the depot gate, where he welcomed buses back from their routes and directed them to their parking spots.
Over the years, Steven resided in Brooklyn and Queens and finally settled in Commack in 1996 with Linda and his daughter, Jessica.
Steven (Steve to his many friends) was a figure larger than life. He was the personification of Jackie Gleason’s Honeymooners character, Ralph Kramden. His mother called him “Jolly.”
He had an incredible recollection of movie trivia, including cast members and their memorable lines. He was a master of karaoke. Steven’s rendition of the song Sympathy for the Devil is world renowned.
He was the ultimate host of backyard and poolside parties. He would expertly cannonball into his pool and was outstanding on the bocce court.
He was an avid Mets and Jets fan through thick and thin (mainly the latter).
As far as anyone knows, he was a perpetual winner at the Borgata, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun. According to folklore, he was a legend at Jake’s 58.
Most importantly, Steven was a dedicated husband to his wife of 35 years, Linda, and a beloved father to his daughter, Jessica. He was also the proud “grandfather” to his pet pooch, Stella. They will all miss him dearly.
Steven will be dearly missed by his siblings, Peter, Joanne and Marianne, their families, the Pietromonaco family and an extended group of family and friends—all with whom he shared a very happy life over his 70 years.
Steven was predeceased by his mother, Helen, and his father, Roman (also known as Ray or “Pickles”).

Linda, Jessica, Joanne, Marianne, Peter – Steven was one of the most funny, fun loving, entertaining, and interesting people we’ve encountered. He made all smile and laugh with his wit and outgoing personality. He was one of the good one’s out there. I (Tom) was not as close as many others, truly my loss. I’m sure he is and will be deeply missed by you and everyone else he was close with. God Bless.
Thanks for all the memories we always had, at work in our last years working at the bus yard. I could always count on you for support and friendship. Many years of pick parties an all the shenanigans we schemed up to make the day as a seamless chore.
Will miss you dearly Steve.
To the Wroblewski Family
Our prayers are with your entire family. Dennis and I so enjoyed the days that we were with Steven, Linda and Jessica at Marianne and Glen’s. He will be missed by so many and remembered by all who knew him. Steven, rest in peace with your mom and dad.
