Stuart Manning Furbush

4-15-2026 Stu, Uncle Stu, was the uncle of a former girlfriend, the daughter of his brother, Carl, whose family I came to consider lifelong good friends. Stu helped me get my first real job, as a carpenter helper, at my 23 years of age in 1976. I had the honor of working with him one weekend morning in the lower Manhattan financial district where he and I humped a number of pieces of 12 feet by 4-foot 5/8 sheetrock from his van into a closed bank and down a long winding stairway to the area where he installed them. I don’t remember if they were single or double stacked, but they were very heavy and unwieldy, yet we didn’t damage any of them. But with Stu it was a quick and easy delivery, just another ordinary day for him but an unforgettable accomplishment for me. Thank you, Stu.
