Coach Walker was a longtime assistant on the girls varsity basketball team. He was loved by every member of our team..He went above and beyond to bring people together and put smiles on everyone’s faces. I’ve never been in a situation or worked with anybody that brought so much joy to the people around him. He was not only a great coach , but a better friend.
The mention of the name “Tom Walker” always has, and always will, bring a smile to my face, and a warmth to my heart. With Sympathies, Annie Hofmann

Great family Tom Walker
Tommy was a very unique man. He had so much compassion for everyone he came across. I will miss my good friend, more than I can explain.
Tom had a way of making our neighborhood feel like home. He always helped in any way possible, whether it was lending a hand, offering advice, or simply being there when someone needed him. He was kind, dependable, and always ready with a wave, a conversation, or support when it mattered most. He was Always there for Us Kids & my family . ALL the way !
He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Rest in peace 🤍
Thank You for ALWAYS being Such a Great neighbor & Friend <3
For 40 years or so we have been lucky enough to be the Walkers’ neighbors directly across our one lane road, which also functioned as our town square. Tom and his family are wonderful neighbors and we would often chew the fat with Tom, rakes in hand, about almost everything, sports, politics, being Irish, the books he was reading and yes, the hapless New York Jets. The twinkle in his eye was one of hope, optimism, earnestness and mischief. He was especially proud of his family and his students, and also his ability to keep up with the older people on his pickup basketball game. Tom was a multi-faceted, multi-interest person, a doer, who was genuinely interested in everyone with whom he spoke. We are saddened with grief with his family, but very much proud to hold his memory close to our hearts. We miss Tom already. That will always remain so. Much love to the Walkers.
Coach Walker was a kind and funny basketball coach, a great teacher, and a lovely friend to my parents. He will be missed sorely. <3
While I haven'[t seen Tom in many years, I have very fond memories of our outings with Joanne, Ellen, Kenny, Laura, Donna, the list goes on. To Joanne, Brian, Kevin and respective wives and children, you were blessed with an awesome gentleman and today is a sad day for all. Sending my deepest condolences to all and may your many memories be a source of comfort. Sincerely, Annie Blumberg Wieland.
Coach Tom Walker was our dearest friend and teammate for many years at Mount Sinai Adult Basketball. He always brought to the court his loving smile, kind words and great 3 point shot! Every Sunday morning he was the first to show up to practice and discuss the Knicks, Yankees and the ongoing losses of the Jets. We will miss you Coach but rest assured, never forgotten. Your Basketball Family
Thoughts and Prayers go out to Tom’s Family and Friends. Tom will always be remembered as an exceptional educator! He made a tremendous impact on everyone he came in contact with. A true, caring and loving individual whose smile would light up the room. Rest in peace!
We were all blessed to have Tommy Walker in our lives. He was such an optimistic guy who would greet you with a twinkle in his eyes and big smile. Tommy was a great family man and so proud of his Irish roots that we loved to talk about. Thanks for your friendship Coach Walker. We’ll miss you very much. Rest in peace friend.
We love and miss you Tom.
Our Condolences to Tom’s family and friends. He was a wonderful person and great teacher. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

Joanne & family…….I’m saddened to learn this news. I hadn’t seen Tommy in years, but I have incredibly warm memories of playing lots of basketball with him. He was funny, kind and just a little competitive. May his memory always be a blessing for you all. David Van Wagner
Tenacious and competitive on the court Tom’s energy and intensity made him an easy teammate, opponent and friend. Ill miss his smile and pregame chats and sharing Yankee and Giants gossip over a Guinness at Tara’s. His close relationship with his son Kevin was beautiful to watch on the court. What a blessing to have that memory. God bless you Tom and God bless your family.

Lived playing basketball with him when I was able to. I will always remember playing with him. Seldom was there a 3-point opportunity that he chose to pass up on. Great memories! 👍
Tommy was a dear friend and such a nice guy. Always smiling and never did he have a bad word about anyone. I haven’t seen him in about 4 years since we moved to Virginia but he’s one of the people you don’t forget. Of course we that played basketball with him will never forget his almost half court 3 point shots. Our prayers go out to his family. He will be missed, may he rest in peace.
I am saddened to learn of Tommy’s passing. We went to Port Jeff together and spent more than a little time playing pickup ball back in the day (and I’m talking early 70’s 😬). Although I only saw him a couple of times at class reunions in the ensuing 50 years after moving to Florida for school and work, it was always easy to catch up with him. I’m kicking myself now for not having reached out more, but I have great memories of a kind and friendly man and it’s clear he was loved by many. May his memory be a blessing.
