Thomas E. Newman

Thomas E. Newman, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Maureen Newman, he was the cherished father of Patricia Gifford (late Michael), Maureen Amara (Raymond), and Tara Terzella (Michael). Thomas was a loving grandfather to Christopher, Bridget, Matt, Tom, Katie, Julia, Peter and Patrick and great grandfather to Sydney and Lyla.

Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He always enjoyed spending time with his family. Thomas had a strong faith and was a Eucharistic Minister at St Patrick Church, Smithtown for many years. He gave communion to patients at Community Hospital of Western Suffolk and at Nesconset Nursing Home. He also served on the St. Patrick Parish Council for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Thomas was proud of his Irish heritage and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was also a huge Notre Dame Football fan. Thomas loved to travel and plan trips. He will be deeply missed. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family.
