He is the son of the late Fred and the late Joanna (Riekemann) Depken. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. He was employed by the Suffolk County Department Of Public Works as a Surveyor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan (Spielmann) Depken and one loving daughter, Laura Carol of Scotia, New York. He is the grandfather of six cherished grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by his dear son, Carl.
