Stay up late at night to hear him

Who passed five years ago
He tells her that he misses her

Body is crumbling under the weight of time
His mind is here and his mind was fine

He wants to join his wife
And so before the end of April
He willed to end his life
I stay up late to hear his prayers
He doesn’t know there’s someone there
He’s too deaf to know how loud he’s spoken
He’s much too tired, heart much too broken
She came to take him, the end was quick
In another world his soul does slip
Now for his love my heart is sore
The room next door spoke nevermore
