William Scott Jr, 83, passed away on June 13, 2026 surrounded by family. Bill was a Navy veteran and retired NYPD officer who served 20+ years before retirement. He was known for his kind, generous spirit and found joy in Ohio State football, the Mets and Disney.
He leaves behind Carole, his beloved wife of 59 years, his beloved son William Scott III and his wife Colleen, his cherished granddaughter Cas, and his dog, Gizmo.
Those who wish to honor his memory are invited to gather to celebrate his life at Branch Funeral Home in Miller Place. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4-8pm and funeral services are Friday at 11:30am. Those who would like to make a donation at his name are encouraged to support the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
